Lifelong suffering of a Lifelong Mother
It is the very nature of a mother
That makes a woman always do her best
To keep her child from suff'ring pain and trouble,
Regardless of the cause, and without rest.
A loving mum does anything required
If she feels that her babe may be defiled
She'd do a lot to try to help her partner,
But she'd do all she could to save her child.
And if she feels she could make one decision
Through which her child would never suffer pain,
It's clear she'd take that choice, no hesitation,
Without a thought to her of cost, or gain.
Will she not wish to keep her child from suff'ring
From pain, resentment, sorrow, hate or scorn?
What if she feels the best that she can offer
Is to save her child from ever being born?
It's nev'r an easy thing to be a mother,
To some, the choices taken may seem wrong,
But she's made her choice because she loves her baby,
And that's a love which lasts her whole life long.
To choose a termination will cause anguish
But if she fears the life her child may face,
A mum may make that choice so they won't suffer,
And take on a life of suffering in their place.
