Our Volunteers

The Splash Project is run entirely by volunteers who give freely of their time and talents to help individuals and families who have been bereaved.

All of our volunteers are suitably trained, either because of their work, or because they have been on appropriate training courses. They usually have personal experience of baby loss.

Although at the current time we only have a drop in sessions in Helston, we do have a number of volunteers in various locations right throughout Cornwall, enabling us to offer support to any in need of it, wherever they live in the county.

Sometimes when a loss happens, there can be a lot of lingering questions about the medical treatment which is received. It can be very helpful to get answers to why certain treatments were necessary or why something you wanted did not happen.

One of our volunteers is a local GP, who has also worked in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and another is an intensive care nurse with 11 years of experience. Because of their training, and experience through work, they can answer some of these questions, discuss your experience, and help you to understand what happened.
